Our Clinical Trials

Gilead is also conducting clinical studies with novel drug candidates in Switzerland and is therefore making an important contribution to local innovation.

Gilead's employees are partners for the medical community. They are specialists in infectious, liver, cancer, hematology, and fungal diseases.

In Switzerland, too, there are barriers that stand in the way of optimal care for sick people. That's why we work with partners to develop programs that improve access to medical care. We want to help remove hurdles and promote education. Our grants program and our scientific funding program focus on people's care and strengthen health literacy.

What is a Clinical Trial?

Clinical trials are research studies performed in healthy volunteers or people with a specific illness or condition that are aimed at evaluating a new treatment or therapy. These studies are the primary way that researchers find out if a new treatment is safe and effective before it can be used to treat a specific disease or condition. Clinical trials are also used to learn if a new treatment is more effective or has less harmful side effects than the standard treatment.
